Within the project Bio‑M a new flexible and sustainable process for the production of bioethanol from biogenic carbon dioxide and “green“ hydrogen is to be developed and their technical feasibility as well as industrial relevance to be demonstrated.
Advantages lie in the marketing possibilities of methanol as a biogenic platform chemical as well as as energy and hydrogen storage in order to increase the volumetric energy density of hydrogen. The focus of the project is the development and evaluation of stress‑resistant, stable catalysts, which meet the requirements of the real gas compositions as well as a fluctuating mode of operation.
Process parameters are determined theoretically and practically and are used to evaluate the process.
