The objective of the integrated project is to increase the use of renewable resources and, in the long term, to convert chemical production processes for the production of synthesized building blocks to renewable resources. By means of an integrated development along the whole value creation chain from the pilot scale through to production scale the aim is to implement an integrated production on the basis of renewable resources.
Important areas of innovation in the project are the development, optimization, evaluation and integration of cost‑effective methods for the processing and provision of domestic vegetable oils in order to obtain synthesized building blocks, for the chemical‑biotechnological catalyzed conversion of domestic vegetable oils into synthesized building blocks and for the upstream and downstream processing and further processing of the synthesized building blocks obtained into epoxy resins, hydrophobic agents, amines and lubricants.
Thus the project addresses the three essential aspects resources, processes and products in the use of renewable resources and integrates biotechnological and combined processes in an already existing integrated production of the chemical industry using the concept of a biorefinery.
