BioEcoSIM Open Demonstration Event
Pilot plant for fertilizer production from manure
Presentation of an innovative pilot plant for manure valorisation as fertilisers and organic soil improvers
Around 1 800 million tonnes of manure are produced in Europe every year. In the EU-funded project BioEcoSIM led by Fraunhofer IGB, 15 partners from research and industry developed a technology to convert livestock manure into organic soil improvers and mineral fertilisers.
The overall process uses energy-efficient technologies and works on the principle of circular economy. A technology prototype capable of processing 50 kg of raw manure will be presented by the project consortium on June 14th, 2016 in Kupferzell (Germany) at the installations of the project partner Agro Energie.
The products obtained have excellent quality as fertilisers and can then be mixed to match the nutritional requirements of any crop.
Target groups:
The Open Demonstration Event specially addresses investors, industrial partners in the manure processing and fertiliser sector, farmers and manure associations in Europe, individual farmers and policy makers.
