Rheology

Rheological measurements can be used to investigate the flow properties and viscoelastic properties of a sample. In a rotational or oscillatory rheometer, the sample is sheared between a static part (e.g. plate) and a moving part (e.g. plate or cone). The required torque is measured, which allows to investigate the shear stress and thus the viscosity and other rheological properties of the sample.
