Take the opportunity of exchange and visit us at our booth #9!
2:00 PM – 3:35 PM | Salle 4
WKS 1: Now we only need to scale-up: why it is not that simple and what we can do about it
Best-practices from Fraunhofer IGB’s scale-up experts Dr. Christine Rasche and Dr. Grzegorz Kubik
The transformation of the chemical industry towards a more sustainable production is an urgent requirement of our time. However, the shift to renewable feedstock simultaneously with the adequate novel processes and equipment is very risky. With having run more than 400 projects in its biotech and chemical pilots plants, the Fraunhofer IGB/CBP will share some best practices and learnings. Also, we are curious about you! Let’s discuss how to de-risk, speed up, or maybe even – revolutionize? – the way to an industrial process!
2:00 PM - 3:35 PM | Salle 5
Parallel Session 3: KETs Revolutionizing Nutraceutical Ingredient Production for Food & Feed
Alternative proteins: novel sources, processes and applications – how to mix and match
Dr. Christine Rasche (Fraunhofer IGB)
4:05 PM – 5:40 PM | Salle 1
Parallel Session 4: KETs Leveraging Innovations in Microalgae production
A dynamic calibration method improves the accuracy of online biomass estimation of microalgae with optical density sensor
Yen-Cheng Yeh (Fraunhofer IGB)
Making feedstock available and developing and optimizing industrial biotechnology processes are key technologies for a sustainable bioeconomy. In this context, scaling expertise and pilot plants are crucial to launch new products on the market.
At the Fraunhofer IGB, we have decades of experience in the development, establishment and optimization of biotechnological conversion processes in which either microorganisms or enzymes are used to convert raw materials into usable products. We cover the entire process chain and create the conditions for the scalability of our processes even on a laboratory scale.
Fraunhofer CBP offers pilot plants and modular process capacities and a wide variety of processing and reprocessing techniques. We thus support start-ups and SMEs not only with the technical further development of conversion processes, but also by providing larger sample quantities for application research and process data for feasibility studies of manufacturing processes.
