The results achieved in the Hydrofichi project are aimed at making textile processes more sustainable by increasingly integrating the polysaccharide chitosan as an alternative material. The main focus is on the partial replacement of perfluorinated coatings for the hydrophobization of textiles. The results thus also have strong economic relevance. Nevertheless, the consortium has decided to make various results of the research available to a broader public. To illustrate the potential of the polysaccharide, presentations and publications highlighted resources, modifications and, above all, applications for the hydrophobic coating of textiles.
