Water Technologies, Resource Recovery and Scale-up
Kuan-Po Liao started as a research assistant at Fraunhofer IGB in 2022. Originally from Taiwan, he received his Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering at the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in Taichung, Taiwan. Afterwards, he completed his Master's degree in Environmental Engineering at the renowned Technical University Munich (TUM) in Germany, specializing in Urban Water Engineering and Water-Food-Energy Nexus. In 2022, he became a PhD candidate at the IGVP institute of the University of Stuttgart.
Due to his great interest in research and development, Liao has been working on interdisciplinary research projects in various labs for several years. As a scientist in the Water Technologies, Resource Recovery and Scale-up innovation field, his work focuses on the characterization of waste streams, the modification and optimization of phosphorus recovery technologies from lab-scale to pilot-scale and the development of innovative recovery processes. He supports the ongoing project BW2Pro. Simultaneously, he also transfers the scientific discoveries to other industrial projects in the field of nutrient recovery.
