Groundwater Colloquium | RE-WATER Braunschweig
14th Lower Saxony Groundwater Colloquium | 6th International Symposium
On 21.02.2019 at 4 p.m. Dr. Marius Mohr of the Fraunhofer IGB will present the results of a case study "Utilization of the effluent of a wastewater treatment pond for the cultivation of vegetables in a hydroponic system in Gifhorn district".
The joint conference is organized with the focus on
“RETHINKING WATER CYCLES”
For many years, the Lower Saxony Groundwater Colloquium and the International Symposium ReWater Braunschweig have been important events for the water and wastewater treatment sector and are well-established conferences in the research and innovation landscape within and beyond the Braunschweig Region of Science.
Both conference series focus on the interdisciplinary topic „water“ and share a common interest in all aspects of the resource „water“. In addition in 2019 the Lower Saxony Groundwater Colloquium celebrates its 30th Anniversary. Thus, Abwasserverband Braunschweig (Braunschweig Wastewater Association), Nord-deutsches Wasserzentrum – NWZ (network of the Northern German water industry), the Stadtentwässerung Braunschweig GmbH (Braunschweig Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority) and the Technische Universität Braunschweig want to use this opportunity to organize a joint conference with the focus on „Rethinking Water Cycles“.
The Lower Saxony Groundwater Colloquium has been presented to an international audience since 1989. Experts from research, industry, consulting, associations and administrations from different countries are invited to exchange their experience and ideas and present them to a wider audience. It is the declared goal of the Lower Saxony Groundwater Colloquium to provide a platform for an interdisciplinary discussion about a sensible approach to groundwater protection and groundwater management.
The International Symposium RE-WATER Braunschweig generally focuses on the topics water reuse, nutrient recovery and closing of energy and material cycles. Also, subjects closely linked to these reuse topics such as questions of hygiene and pollutant loads as well as administrative and legal aspects especially in view of demographic and climatic changes are covered by the Symposium Series RE-WATER Braunschweig.
Corresponding with its interdisciplinary approach, the symposium aims to attract a wide range of scientists, planners, policy makers and managers from administration and industry and encourages papers that address scientific or applied-research topics in the general fields of groundwater, wastewater and reuse and within the interdisciplinary fields water as a resource, nutrients, hygiene, pollutants, soil protection and treatment processes.
