Trade fairs and events | Retrospect 2020

From March 10–12, 2020, international scientists and experts meet at the Congress Center Düsseldorf to discuss on the progress of storage technologies for renewable energies. This year again, Fraunhofer IGB will present our research in the field of of catalyst and process development, CO₂ and energy conversion.

As the leading technology platform for a competitive, sustainable and resilient European Manufacturing, ManuFuture's high level group has decided to establish a new subplatform on »Biointelligent Manufacturing«.

MS Wissenschaft is a floating science center: Interactive exhibits invite visitors to become active themselves, to deal with a question and to get to the bottom of things. The Fraunhofer IGB is a partner in the Science Year Bioeconomy and will show its bio-washing machine at MS Wissenschaft to show how optimized biosurfactants can be produced from renewable resources using microorganisms.

The PSE conference series, which is held every two years, presents the fundamentals and applications of plasma and ion beam technologies in surface engineering. This year, it is being held in Erfurt (Thuringia), Germany.

The programme of the 3rd International Bioeconomy Congress Baden-Württemberg includes overview lectures, new research results and practical examples on the topic “The contribution of Bioeconomy to the Green Deal”. The Fraunhofer IGB will be represented with some lectures.

Aqua Circular On-line Conference is going to be an innovative mixture of presentations, circular water project presentations, debates with the aim of creating business opportunities in regional market and build strong partnerships among regional water operators, decision makers and technicians from regional utilities, local industry and agriculture, local start-ups, regional universities and R&D centers, technology providers, local and central administrations.

Due to the corona pandemic, Fraunhofer IGB will unfortunately not be represented at the analytica. Originally Fraunhofer IGB wanted to show at the Fraunhofer joint booth a newly developed real-time process mass spectrometer analyzing 30 substances simultaneously from the liquid and gas phase.

Because knowledge creates perspectives. On Wednesday, October 28, 2020, Fraunhofer IGB will present next-generation diagnostics and cell-based test systems.

The EIT food-course will also offer insights and examples from an industrial and entrepreneurial perspective, that can help the participants to found or improve their own algal-based business. The workshop lasts two days and is organized virtually together with the University of Cambridge Algal Innovation Centre (AIC) and Matís, Iceland.

This platform will trigger high-level discussions and partnerships for a new clean energy era, enabled by the Green Hydrogen opportunities. Dr. Csepei from Fraunhofer IGB will present the economic advantages of our combined process for combined chemical and biotechnical CO2 conversion.
