World Forum for the Process Industries
World Forum for the Process Industries
This year we are represented twice at ACHEMA. At both booths we show alternative solutions and new processes for replacing fossil-based chemistry. With our infrastructure and pilot plants at the Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes CBP we offer companies the opportunity to develop and scale biotechnological and chemical processes for the use of renewable raw materials up to demonstration scale.
We will present the process engineering development and scaling of biotechnological processes for the production of biobased basic, fine and platform chemicals for further processing in the chemical industry or in industries in the field of cosmetics, detergents and plastics or adhesives as well as the production of enzymes at the booth of our partner Enzymicals AG in hall 4.1, booth L50.
In addition, we will present at the joint booth of the Fraunhofer Chemistry Alliance founded in 2021 (Hall 6.0, booth A52), which unites the overarching cooperation of 15 Fraunhofer institutes. The alliance offers industrial customers a one-stop store for applied research and development in a variety of possible cooperation formats.
Industrial biotechnology is a key technology for a sustainable chemical industry, pilot plants essential for the commercialization of new products. Fraunhofer CBP offers pilot plants and modular process capacities up to 10 m3 and a wide variety of processing and reprocessing techniques. We thus support start-ups and SMEs not only with the technical further development of biotechnological processes, but also with the provision of larger sample quantities for application research or with process data for studies on the feasibility of a manufacturing process.
We look forward to seeing you at the booth of our partner Enzymicals AG in hall 4.1, booth L50.
At the joint Fraunhofer Chemistry Alliance booth, current research activities of the participating institutes will be presented on the following main topics:
In the area of "Accelerating Green Chemistry", the IGB, together with partners in the lighthouse project ShaPID, is presenting how polymers can be produced from CO2 by combining electrochemistry and biotechnology in power-to-X-to-Y process cascades.
In the area "Facilitating Scale-up", the IGB will show a new approach for fractionation of lignocellulose and a new patented process for precipitation of lignin as well as the possibilities of scaling up processes for the bioeconomy with the pilot plants at Fraunhofer CBP in Leuna.
We are looking forward to your visit in hall 6.0, booth A52.
