    The European Green Deal by the current European Commission (2019-2024) aims to accelerate a transition to a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. the Rhine-Meuse Forum 2024 offers the opportunity to bring together various stakeholders from regional, national and European levels to discuss these issues with representatives from politics, research, business and civil society and to propose concrete solutions. Dr.-Ing. Schließmann is a participant in the section "How can bioeconomy contribute to greener cities and industries?" and will also be presenting our current projects on this topic at the accompanying exhibition.

    Partnering Event IraSME & CORNET

    The event will take place on February 29, 2024 at the Fraunhofer IGB in Stuttgart. In addition to presentations on R&D funding opportunities in the context of CORNET and IraSME and corresponding success stories, the program also includes an elevator pitch session, which will give participants the opportunity to present their project ideas and support the search for suitable cooperation partners. Representatives from Fraunhofer IGB are Prof. Dr. Rupp with a welcome speech and Dr.-Ing. Christina Kohl, who will present the PsoBibi project.

    Algae Biotechnology

    The aim of this professional development programme is to provide introductory training and theory in algal biology, culturing, growth and biotechnology under laboratory and small scale pilot facilities. The course is hosted by Fraunhofer IGB (Dr. Schmid-Staiger), the University of Cambridge Algal Innovation Centre, Scottish Association for Marine Science und Matis. You can sign up for both the online and the in-person, or just the online or just the in-person course. (online course: November 2023 / in-person course: April 2024)

    IFAT | Trade fair

    IFAT is the world's leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management and will take place in Munich this year from May 13 to 17. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will be represented with a joint booth in Hall B2, stand 338. The Fraunhofer IGB will also be there with topics such as hydroponics/bioponics, recovering recyclable materials from wastewater, water purification and pollutant removal with plasmas, trace substance removal as well as drying and torrefaction processes. The InBiRa insect biorefinery will also be presented at the trade fair.
